But for $500 you can drop in a nice L24/26 and supposedly drive away. Do want. However, there is a good chance of there being more rust than metal and other problems.

Sweet!

I saw a bright orange 280ZX in traffic this morning with a front bumper kit and after-market rear spoiler. The spoiler was *off-center*. Made me so angry.

About 25 years ago, I was working for the leasing division of a local Chevy dealership, and was driving a 280ZX, no idea what the year was, and dragged a guy in a much older 240Z. There's a spot when you drive from VA Beach to Norfolk on the expressway where the expressway begins with a streetlight. The ZX had a sloppy automatic transmission, and the 240 absolutely smoked me.

Hnnnggg... Make it a ferrari red g-nose with classic gold spoked rims, slightly lowered, rebuilt motor, new exhaust, simplified interior, studded seats like in the original gt40, and hnnnnggggg...

God damn 240Zs are pretty, and really cheap in the States too. I haven't seen one that wasn't a rustbucket below £10,000 over here. Ludicrous.

I think if I got a 240Z I'd cultivate a pretty, but plain Jane look. Not sure I could resist modifying the engine, but I wouldn't go nuts. Maybe a cam, intake and exhaust and triple carbs (if that).

Look on the bright side - there are many cars you want and can reasonably have. Work hard and save up. There are lots of cool used cars in every price bracket.
